Note the below timings are for guidelines purposes. \n\n10:00am Guru Abhishekam\n10:30am Yagna\, Kalash Puja & Vishvaksena Puja\n11:30pm Deity Abhishekam\n12:30pm Final Arati\n1:00pm Lunch\n\nENJOY THE EXPERIENCE\n\n\n\n\n\nAbhishekam is done every day to the deities of Srinivasa Temple. On the full moon\, our regular morning prayer service is extended to include a special Maha Abhishekam on the large deities on the main altar followed by a Yagna. The whole event lasts about three hours. While the curtains are closed\, and the deities are being dressed\, you will hear satsangs on divine scriptures\, enjoy singing and dancing to kirtans and feel the spirit of the community. \nFULL MOON ABHISHEKAM\n\nDuring the full moon\, the water element in our bodies is especially activated\, which often leads to increased emotionality and negativity. Witnessing abhishekam\, transforms this negativity and helps to balance and purify the natural elements of the body. \n\nDID YOU KNOW?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbhishekam is a beautiful bathing ritual where five different substances are poured onto the deity. These substances symbolise the five elements of our physical nature and our lower nature emotional qualities. Through the Grace of the deities\, these elements\, our five senses and the mind are purified and transformed in a positive way. \n\nMilk/water element/ego is offered to be elevated into wisdom and selflessness.\nYogurt/earth element/pride is offered to be transformed to humility.\nGhee/fire element/karma is offered in hopes of being freed from the bonds of material desire.\nHoney/air element/Maya is offered up so that we may transcend illusions and rise to attain the Divine.\nSugar/ether element/emotionality (in particular\, jealousy) is offered to be balanced and harmonised so we can be uplifted into the sweetness of the Divine\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA yajna is an ancient Vedic fire ceremony which has been practised for millennia. During the celebration there will be four rounds of puja\, abhishekam to Shiva in the form of lingams. We will stay awake throughout the night praising Lord Shiva with Bhajans\, 4 Aarti’s\, Dancing\, Meditating & Chanting.\nCustomarily\, we wear white traditional clothing since this is the colour which pleases Lord Shiva 🤍 \n\n\nAWAKENING BHAKTI\n\n\nShiva is pure consciousness. He is the Supreme Lord’s greatest bhakta as he is always meditating upon Narayana. Known as the Lord of Destruction\, he stands for the dissolution of the mind\, which is exactly what we need in order for pure Love to awaken inside the heart. Through his Grace\, Shiva destroys our pride and ego so that bhakti can grow in our hearts and we can rise to attain the Lotus Feet of Lord Narayana. \n\n\n\n\n\nShivaratri is when you forget about your mind and let your mind dwell only on the Divine. Nrsingadev restores balance\, eliminates all darkness and cleanses and purifies the mind of negativity. During the celebration there will be four rounds of puja\, abhishekam to Shiva in the form of lingams. We will stay awake throughout the night praising Lord Shiva with Bhajans\, 4 Aarti’s\, Dancing\, Meditating & Chanting.\nCustomarily\, we wear white traditional clothing since this is the colour which pleases Lord Shiva 🤍 \n\n\nAWAKENING BHAKTI\n\n\nShiva is pure consciousness. He is the Supreme Lord’s greatest bhakta as he is always meditating upon Narayana. Known as the Lord of Destruction\, he stands for the dissolution of the mind\, which is exactly what we need in order for pure Love to awaken inside the heart. Through his Grace\, Shiva destroys our pride and ego so that bhakti can grow in our hearts and we can rise to attain the Lotus Feet of Lord Narayana. \n\n\n\n\n\nShivaratri is when you forget about your mind and let your mind dwell only on the Divine.
