Babaji’s Kriya Yoga – Origins
Babaji’s Kriya Yoga teachings and techniques have been passed on for many centuries, each tailored for the world at that particular time. He introduced Atma Kriya Yoga through Paramahamsa Vishwananda, which is the most suitable practice for the present day. Translating from Sanskrit, ‘atma’ means soul, ‘kriya’ is action and ‘yoga’ is union or awareness, thus the full meaning would be ‘awareness of the soul in every action’. This practice is given to the humanity to help everyone realize the Divine within and experience Unconditional Love. Mahavatar Babaji gave a promise that whenever one practices Atma Kriya He will be there guiding, blessing and loving the practitioner.
Even more than that, due to the hectic lifestyle of the 21st century, the compassionate masters have come up with other simpler practices, like Simply Meditation, Project Mantra, Babaji Surya Namaskar and Om Chanting. While these practices may not be as powerful as Babaji’s Kriya Yoga, they can be a good starting point to help familiarise people with meditation and spirituality. Is Babaji Still Alive?
Mahavatar Babaji manifested on earth 5,000 years ago and is said that he still resides in the Himalayas. He conquered death by the means of yoga, and this way freed Himself from the bonds of this material world. However, out of compassion, Mahavatar Babaji decided to stay here to help people on their spiritual journeys. Although Babaji has chosen not to be a public person, yet His spiritual influence is unparalleled. Instead, he prefers that His disciples be known to the world.Paramahamsa Vishwananda is one of His disciples, who disseminates Babaji’s teachings on His behalf.
Paramahamsa Vishwananda & Babaji’s Connection
Mahavatar Babaji first appeared to Paramahamsa Vishwananda , founder of Bhakti Marga when he was five years old. That time little Visham (Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s birth name) was in the hospital after eating poisonous seeds. Babaji appeared as a seemingly ordinary man in the hospital ward he was staying in. Visham watched with fascination as He gave sweets to all the children.
Visham approached the kind man, and when he did so Babaji asked him to, “Look behind me, do you see that Light?” The boy replied saying that he couldn’t see it. To which Mahavatar Babaji told him to look again, but this time properly. Visham looked again and finally saw the light. It was brighter than the sun. Babaji then said, “This Light is you”. That meeting was very special, because Mahavatar Babaji showed the young boy the true nature of the soul. Ever since, He has guided Paramahamsa Vishwananda on his mission, to spread the message of Unconditional Love.
MAHAVATAR BABAJI IS THE GURU OF ALL THE GURUS ON EARTH, THE TEACHER OF TEACHERS. HE IS VERY SERENE AND GENTLE; ABOVE ALL VERY, VERY HUMBLE AND FULL OF LOVE.

Babaji’s Disciple – Swamini VishwaLakshmiAnandaMa
A great deal of literature has been produced about Mahavatar Babaji. Bhakti Marga has contributed invaluable new material to enable people to further understand his spiritual work. Paramahamsa Vishwananda appointed Swamini VishwaLakshmiAnandaMa (shown in the picture above), as a Swamini within His spiritual order in 2011. Even before she was a Swamini, Babaji began to communicate with her telepathically in 2008. As a result of this contact, three books have been produced: Unity with the Divine and two volumes of Journey to Freedom. Babaji transmitted the books directly through Swamini using a Divine imprinting technique. He defines it as a, “… heart to heart and mind to mind communication.” For more information about the books proceed to the official bhakti shop page.
