‘Call of the 9 Goddesses ‘ Pilgrimage to North India – Manwantari’s Story
Author: Seb Gates
Manwantari (front row, first lady from the left) met Guruji in 2006 at a Darshan and has been His devotee since. In May, she participated in pilgrimage with Guruji, where He took pilgrims visit various holy places paying homage to each of the nine forms of Durga.(Hindu Divine Mother)
You are surrounded by the warm air enveloping youwith soft motherly love. It felt that you need to JUST BE and trust Maa
We had to walk 14 km up mountains and hills. I went up to Vaishno Devi partly on a mule (which was felt for days on my behind!) thus got lost and separated from the group and since I could not see any of our pilgrims it become obvious that my purpose is the Darshan of Maa and finding the group was secondary.
All signs were in Hindi and I resorted to my Guru Mantra for help in the matter-chanting helped straight away and I found myself by the police station so I went there. Explaining the story of Guruji and Bhakti Marga. I was given an escort who promptly opened all the doors and whisked me for the Darshan against the queue in a VIP manner. Nobody hurried me and the Pandit explained to me all about Vaishno Devi and offered Prasad from Maa so my Darshan was very, very special and I felt that Maa really, really wanted me to come and was pleased that I did!!!
Then I was escorted back and offered a masala chai. In the meantime the chief contacted our hotel and our Indian Rep Gurdeep. When I was talking before about Guruji and His mission Bhakti Marga, I did not realised that announcement was made through the loudspeaker so was surprised to find two rescuers Partha and Gurpreet coming to reunite me with Guruji and the fellow Bhakti Marga pilgrims!! I was able to tell the tale to Guruji who was happy that I had a good experience. Later Gurpreet told me that it was mostly unusual for the group to have a Darshan when there was no queue at all and he has been there previously quite few times!!! Well, Maa really called us all and was happy that we turned up!
I felt the need to walk down so I asked Guruji to let me, despite Him offering I take a ride in one of the cars. It took all my strength because of blisters on my feet- I did make it somehow and was very grateful to Rajeshwari (Bhakti Marga UK London OM Healing Co-ordinator) for slowing down to a snail pace to accompany me.
What I relay felt throughout all the places we visited is the vibrant LOVE FOR GOD from the simple folk. This is the thing that touched me most , you feel that GOD IS ALIVE for the simple people who flock to the Temples here- they really have God in their hearts and they come to see their Mother, be it in the Pindi (stone) form or Jwala (a Fire/flame) form. It is unusual for a European mind to say the least but it is beautiful to experience. I found myself thinking and hoping to be called again by Ma!
We were granted by Ma a big bonus!
We ended our trip in Kurukshetra yes THE place of Bhagawad Gita! Well it was beyond my wildest dreams to follow in the footsteps of Arjun and Krishna Himself!!! And with my beloved Guruji!!!!
