Bhakti Marga UK is a spiritual organisation and community that supports Paramahamsa Vishwananda and Bhakti Marga International’s worldwide mission to spread Bhakti and Love through spiritual events, puja gatherings, sacred music and singing. Since 2005, Bhakti Marga UK has offered a range of Sadhana techniques, centred around yoga and meditation. Bhakti Marga Sadhanas help you access the wisdom of your heart and develop your own unique relationship with the Divine.
Bhakti Marga is welcoming to people of all faiths, to people who are spiritual, to those who do not follow a particular faith and to people who are agnostics or atheists.
Bhakti Marga UK is funded by followers and devotees who want to spread the connection to Divine Love they have experienced through Paramahamsa Vishwananda.
What does Bhakti Marga mean?
The word ‘Bhakti’ (Sanskrit: भक्ति) stems from the Sanskrit verb ‘Bhaj’ (Sanskrit: भज़) which means ‘to be attached, devoted to or serve’. The word ‘Marga’ (Sanskrit: मार्ग) is a term that means ‘path’ or ‘way’. ‘Bhakti Marga’ translates, therefore, as ‘the Path of Devotion’.
Paramahamsa Vishwananda explains this beautifully:
“THE BHAKTI PATH MEANS A LOVE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, WITH THE ULTIMATE, A LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE WHOLE. IT MEANS THAT ONE IS READY TO DISSOLVE INTO THE WHOLE, THAT ONE IS READY TO INVITE THE WHOLE TO COME INTO ONE’S HEART.”

How is Bhakti Marga UK different from other spiritual organisations?
Under the umbrella of ‘yoga’, there are different traditions and paths depending on the spiritual orientation of a particular person.
Hatha yoga is the physical practice of postures to prepare you for meditation.
Jnana yoga is the path of knowledge and wisdom.
Karma yoga is concerned with living in a state, through moment to moment awareness, where there is no attachment to the results of your actions.
The Bhakti Path means first you Love and accept yourself, you then naturally begin to experience the Divine Love inside of you. This Divine Love encompasses the Divine outside of you, residing in other people and pervading all things. Through this Love, we can find unity with everything.
This Divine Love is different from human love where there is an attachment to a particular person or object; this human love carries within it a certain limitation and can never be truly permanent as nothing on earth is permanent.
Bhakti Marga UK Spiritual Activities
Bhakti Marga UK conducts a diverse range of spiritual activities throughout the country.
Most meditations will give you a sense of peace, calm and empathy for other people. The Bhakti Marga UK Sadhana practices will help you to experience this, but there is also another dimension – the main focus is a “Divine Love inside”.
The practice of Atma Kriya Yoga connects you with this Divine Love within, as does OM Chanting and Project Mantra. Simply Meditation practice is more focused on opening up the human heart to love in general. Babaji Surya Namaskar also helps to open the heart chakra.
The Bhakti Marga Sadhanas come from a long meditation Lineage going back thousands of years and they carry with them the wisdom, energy, and blessings of this Lineage. These Sadhanas are not only techniques but are also supercharged with the blessings of Mahavatar Babaji’s Lineage.
OM Chanting, Simply Meditation, Atma Kriya (Spiritual Meditation), Babaji Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) and Project Mantra (Mantra Meditation).
